why is this local supporting this deceptive group created by management? they r inviting people into this group and absorbing all there knowledge for free, trying to take people from there current jobs. This group will eventually apply for non-profit grant money and get volunteers to do the horticulture jobs we currently do(and who knows what else). This group will also be a lobbying group against the current group of citizens that were against the gondola. I don't think the union should support this.

Actually it's a bit confusing. There are 2 groups called Friends of the Niagara Parks, one formed by management of the NPC and the other was a merger of members of OPSEU Local 217, Preserve our Parks and Protect our Parks.

I believe that Preserve our Parks was the group that was instrumental in getting the NPC to reconsider the gondola project.
